What Is the Curriculum Structure of the Online MBA Program?
Quantic is an online academic institution offering standard MBA and Executive MBA programs for recent graduates and mid-career professionals. Our flexible curriculum can be customized to meet your interests and career goals. Here’s more information about the curriculum structure of our online MBA programs:
Core Curriculum
The core curriculum of our online MBA programs covers eight required concentration areas. These modules create social learning opportunities that encourage students to engage with each other through group projects and case studies. This helps students gain unique perspectives and teamwork skills they can apply in the workplace. These are the eight main focus areas for the core curriculum:
Markets and Economies
The markets and economies concentration includes six courses on micro and macro economics. Students learn more about the supply and demand curve and how it applies to large- and small-scale operations. By the end of this module, students will be able to define market types and apply market theories to realistic case studies. This helps identify market trends, economic indicators, and the factors that affect the stability of global markets.
Accounting
Our accounting concentration has seven courses covering assets, liabilities, and equity. Students also learn about bookkeeping and preparing accurate financial statements. The case studies in this section allow students to apply their knowledge of balance sheets and income statements to assess a company’s financial health.
Finance
Quantic’s finance concentration area has eight module sections that focus on the value of money over time and how debt and equity affect a company. The case study projects involve creating capital budgets and making investments to maximize returns. At the end of this section, students will understand how to estimate a company’s value and forecast its future cash flow and financial needs.
Leading Organizations
Our leadership courses explore the structure and behaviors of organizational, cultural, and governmental groups and how they change over time. Students use this information to lead groups and teams and help them function effectively. This involves examining the groups’ makeup and identifying strengths and weaknesses that could affect workflows.
Strategy
The strategy concentration examines strategic business practices on the small, corporate, and international business levels. Business strategy courses also cover how to analyze competitors and scenarios to determine the best course of action. This helps graduates make decisions that maximize their organization’s strengths to remain competitive in the marketplace.
Data and Decisions
MBA students learn how to gather and analyze data about business performance using statistics and probability formulas. Course modules cover the relationship between independent and dependent variables in business and how to measure their impact on an organization. The modules also include realistic case studies that help students understand how to balance risk and reward and make decisions based on the results of their data gathering.
Marketing and Pricing
The marketing and pricing unit helps students understand how marketing and brand development affect the success of a business in local and global markets. In this module, students learn to analyze the current market and company audience to create an effective marketing strategy. Part of effective marketing is setting attractive and reasonable prices that still generate revenue for the company. In-person and e-commerce marketplaces may require different pricing depending on factors like overhead charges.
Supply Chain and Operations
There are five courses in our supply chain and operations concentration, and they focus on giving students the skills to manage projects effectively. They also prepare students to forecast business supply needs and anticipate declines in demand. This helps the supply and demand of a company stay in an effective balance. This helps to create optimal revenue flow and customer satisfaction.
Specialization
After completing the core curriculum, students can choose between two degree specializations. Quantic offers an advanced corporate-level strategy and an entrepreneurship specialization. In the corporate strategy program, students learn how and why vertical integration is used, why companies diversify, and how to complete successful mergers and acquisitions. Students learn to identify and assess new business opportunities in the entrepreneurship track. They also learn about the qualities and attributes that make an entrepreneur successful.
Capstone Project
MBA students must choose and complete one capstone project at the end of their studies. They can choose between the business plan capstone and the strategy report capstone. The business plan capstone involves students conducting real-world research to create a plan that includes the key points of the business’s operations, leadership roles, and risks and rewards. The strategy report capstone option requires students to select an issue faced by corporate businesses and develop practical solutions. These solutions should be developed after extensive research on the issue. This includes the company’s needs and goals, and the effects of possible actions.
